Hi guys! Alex here. Makayla has been trying to get me to try seafood for years now.... and I finally tried some over our Florida vacation. I ended up liking shrimp, scallops and I even tried her grouper tacos which were pretty good. One of her favorites are shrimp - she'll eat it in salads, over pasta, with her hibachi, basically anything. So when she requested this dish, I was pretty excited since this was my first time making shrimp at home. We were happy with the outcome and hope you guys enjoy it, too!

Week Five: Crispy Cajun Shrimp Fettuccine

Ingredients:

  • Fettuccine Pasta
  • 1 lb Shrimp, deshelled & deveined
  • 1 tbsp Cajun Seasoning
  • 2 tbsp All Purpose Flour
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Cup Chicken Broth
  • 1 Cup Heavy Cream
  • ½ Cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 tbsp Parsley
  • Salt & Pepper

Step 1: In a mixing bowl, add shrimp and coat with Cajun seasoning. Toss around to evenly coat, then add flour and repeat.

Step 2: Add butter and olive oil to pan and allow to melt. Add coated shrimp to pan to fry. Evenly disburse shrimp, do not stack.

Step 3: Flip shrimp over one at a time once the side is cooked through. Once fully cooked, add to a separate bowl.

Step 4: In the same pan, add chicken broth, heavy cream and salt & pepper to taste. Allow it to boil slightly to help thicken.

Step 5: Add in grated parmesan cheese and parsley to the sauce consistently stirring.

Step 6: Add in cooked fettuccine & shrimp to the sauce while mixing around. Grate fresh parmesan and parsley over to garnish!

Happy hump day.... we've made it halfway through the week! The weather has been sooo hot, it doesn't even feel like fall is coming this Friday. But y'all know me, that's not stopping me from bringing out all my cozy sweaters and hats! I am seriously in love with this Vici pocketed cardi. Is there anything cuter!!? Probably not. I'm wearing the small shown here and it fits very oversized! I adore the colors - it's like a grey/blue tone but you can see mostly grey until you are in a certain light.

I wanted to pair this cardigan with black accessories since it's not something you'd immediately gravitate for. I love it with the dark contrast though, something edgy about the combination! These Missguided heels are a few seasons old but they have just as cute heels on their site now! Stay tuned for tomorrows recipe post - you won't wanna miss this one!!! SO yummy!! :)

Who else is so happy that denim mini's are back?!? They are seriously TOO cute. I can't believe they were ever out of style... I love them that much. This Red Dress Boutique skirt is less than $50 and fits like a glove! I especially love them raw hem detail - perfect for fall. I've been wearing this skirt & my other denim mini on major repeat lately.

I've received SO many DMs on this white sweater!! It's less than $40 which is a great price point for the quality. I'm wearing the small shown here and it definitely has an oversized feel which I love. Y'all know how much I love oversized sweaters throughout the entire year so this one is perfect to transition into the cooler weather. It's not too think so you can get away with wearing it even right now! & I have to mention... these Sole Society booties are last year so they are marked down sooo low!! I think they are less than $50.... you need them. So comfortable and versatile, I love mine! xo

Happy Monday, loves!! We are doing things a little out of order this week... so my apologies for no recipe this morning! We will be posting a fun recipe this upcoming Thursday first thing in the morning! This past weekend was a little hectic since we had so much going on... we didn't have a chance to shoot anything. Thanks for understanding though!! xo

I am SO excited to share this all neutral look with you today.. you know I love me some neutrals!!! This hat has been on my head since the day it came in the mail (if you follow along over on IG, you've seen it once or twice hahaha) but seriously, I LOVE. It's the perfect size and color so it goes along with EVERYTHING. Also - major sale happening on this jacket right now!!! You need to snag it in your size before it sells out, girls! It's too good to pass up!

Stay tuned for some more fall looks headed your way. I'm so excited for fall since it's the best season to dress in. All the colors, textures and layers make me so happy. Thanks for stopping by! xoxox

Finally.... Friday!!! So nice to see you. :) I'm so excited to share this look with y'all today since you know it's one of my favorites. Something about a little slip dress paired with the coziest cardigan screams YES to me. And you girls KNOW that I can't live without my fall hats... they are a must in my book! I would wear them every single day if I could (some weeks I actually do!). Almost all pieces seen here are by Vici Dolls. If you've been following for a while - you have probably noticed that they update their site every single day. Which is amazing (and dangerous!!). You can use my code FASHKAY20 for 20% off your entire purchase on their site. (YAYYYY)

Onto this slip dress.. how adorable is the lace trim? I love that it's not only on the neckline but the bottom hem as well, so cute! I definitely feel super comfortable in slip dresses because they flatter all body types. Something about them - especially paired with oversized cardigans! You've seen me pair a lightweight cardigan with my simple slip (find the post here), so there's no limit to what you can do with these. I've linked some slips below with other cozy cardigans for you girls to shop! I basically need them all in my closet, ASAP. Hope you babes have the best weekend!! xo
